#NYCCCamaro at Midtown Comics Times Square (Event Recap)

The road to NYCC 2012 just got more exciting and Midtown Comics is helping to build up that hype. Today they held an event in front of their Times Square store to unveil the the all new New York Comic Con 2012 Camaro. Everyone got to take a picture with it but most people was there for a chance to win 3 day tickets to NYCC. About 100 people showed up and only 6 people was chosen by raffle to when the NYCC tickets but they gave away other raffle prizes too like a Iron Man poster and T-Shirts. Everyone in line got buttons, temporary tattoos and even a comic. Nothing too special but its something for waiting in line.

Overall the event latest about an hour, It was a fun turn out and I enjoy going to these little things for the experience. I was hoping to win NYCC tickets but I’m gonna be a 4-day pass anyway. Still would have been nice to pass it along to a friend. I was told that there will be 2 other events like this. There are 3 Midtown comics locations in NYC so in September we should see another event like this at the Downtown and Grand Central locations. There is a good chance I will attend those events too mostly for fun. I will have part 3 of my Road to NYCC video posted hopefully by tomorrow and it will feature video from this event. As always keep checking the blog daily for NYC events/ meetups.

About Nelson

I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool. My parents was always busy with something so they kept me entertained with video games, TV, movies and magazines. I grew up on that and to this day I still love it. In high school I went though a stage were I tried to hide the things I liked to make new friends. It worked but I was disappointment in myself but then senior year I meet a guy named Rimmy. When I first saw him I thought that he was a total geek and a loser. I did not want to be seen with him cause I felt he would ruin my image. In photo class the teacher put us as partners and after talking with him for a while I realized that we had a lot in common. Long story short, Rimmy made me realize that it is ok to show what you like. The things that you love make you who you are and there is no shame in that. Thanks to Rimmy for giving me the idea for "My Nerd Blog". He moved to California and I lost contact with him but I hope he is doing well. My Nerd Blog is not about glorifying the nerd life style it is about showing what we love cause this is who we are, not who we want to be.
