3rd Annual National Cosplay Day NYC (Event overview)

Yesterday was the 3rd Annual National Cosplay Day NYC. If you visit this blog daily you should know the deal behind cosplay events and this one was a amazing. Even if you don’t know much about cosplay (like me) you could easily enjoy something like this and make some new friends. Ultimately, that is what it is about. I’m sure most of you have friends who you see everyday that don’t love the things you love. It feels great to go to something like this and meet people who loves the things that you thought was super weird. All the weird/ craziness is what made this Cosplay Day a success. On top of having fun you meet some really friendly people. It does not get much better than that. I honestly feel like I should let the pictures do the talking.

Big shout out to the staff and everyone who put effort into creating this event/ meetup. We will certainly see each other again. Keep in touch with everyone by joining this facebook group (NYC People online).

About Nelson

I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool. My parents was always busy with something so they kept me entertained with video games, TV, movies and magazines. I grew up on that and to this day I still love it. In high school I went though a stage were I tried to hide the things I liked to make new friends. It worked but I was disappointment in myself but then senior year I meet a guy named Rimmy. When I first saw him I thought that he was a total geek and a loser. I did not want to be seen with him cause I felt he would ruin my image. In photo class the teacher put us as partners and after talking with him for a while I realized that we had a lot in common. Long story short, Rimmy made me realize that it is ok to show what you like. The things that you love make you who you are and there is no shame in that. Thanks to Rimmy for giving me the idea for "My Nerd Blog". He moved to California and I lost contact with him but I hope he is doing well. My Nerd Blog is not about glorifying the nerd life style it is about showing what we love cause this is who we are, not who we want to be.
