Dexter will ends next year with season 8

Ever since Dexter first aired we wondered how would his life end up? Will he get caught? go to jail? get killed? or live a happy life with no more killing? It looks like we will finally have that answer next year. TV Guide magazie has an interview with executive producer Sara Colleton and she confirms that next season will be Dexter’s last. Season 7 starts this fall so that means we will get a two-season series-ender which will give us plenty of time to wrap up all the story lines nicely.

As a fan of the show since season 3 I can say that this show has had its ups and downs. Many times I felt like they the show is dragging itself out but then it has its moments that remind you why you love this show. I hate to see Dexter end but at least we can expect this show to end with a bang. The quote from this interview that stuck with me the most was this part:

From the very beginning, when I first started developing the pilot, I always knew it would be a seven-year arc for this series. I feel easily that we can be an eight-year show, but I never want it to get old and stale. I want us to go out on a high and everybody on the show is determined to keep the level of it up to the very end. It’s always wise to know when it’s time to leave the stage before you’re asked to leave the stage.

Knowing that the show will end next year gives us this count down to answer what will happen to Dexter at the end? Its a question we been waiting 8 years get answered. You can read the full interview at TV Guide.

About Nelson

I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool. My parents was always busy with something so they kept me entertained with video games, TV, movies and magazines. I grew up on that and to this day I still love it. In high school I went though a stage were I tried to hide the things I liked to make new friends. It worked but I was disappointment in myself but then senior year I meet a guy named Rimmy. When I first saw him I thought that he was a total geek and a loser. I did not want to be seen with him cause I felt he would ruin my image. In photo class the teacher put us as partners and after talking with him for a while I realized that we had a lot in common. Long story short, Rimmy made me realize that it is ok to show what you like. The things that you love make you who you are and there is no shame in that. Thanks to Rimmy for giving me the idea for "My Nerd Blog". He moved to California and I lost contact with him but I hope he is doing well. My Nerd Blog is not about glorifying the nerd life style it is about showing what we love cause this is who we are, not who we want to be.
