Last summer I made a promise to really focus on my dating life. I went out with almost 20 girls (not barging) and went on a bunch of dates from going to the movies, chilling in the park to just eating out. It was fun but all of those girls had their own drama. Some of them just wanted to be friends, Others had ex-boyfriend issues, others wanted to take things slow, other girls did not want me talking to anyone else and other girls was just plain gold diggers that wanted me to take them out to eat. The goal of going on those dates was not for sex, I was actually looking for a girlfriend to have a relationship with. I went out with girls from facebook and I even had my friends hook me up on some dates but none of them was girlfriend type. This one girl named Stephine was really nice but she had 3 kids and lots of personal drama, a young guy like me does not need that in his life. Some of them just wanted to have fun and that included going out and ending the night with sex but that was all in the summer fun. No matter if you are a kid or an adult the beginning of summer has that magic feeling that anything can happen but by late against we start to feel like the whole idea of Summer is just a gimmick.

I pretty much wasted my summer last year going out on all these dates. Sure it was fun and the sex was great but the fact is when I added up all the time + money I spent it was a waste of time. I would have much rather spend my time making new friends, earning extra money, going to crazy nerd or gamer events Untimely my blog would be my motivation to do crazy fun things. I don’t want to give people the message that dating is such a bad experience… NO, every guy in his 20s should spend time making new friends and having fun but there is that balance of work and play that we need to recognize.

My plan for this summer is pretty simple. Everything I do will involve 1 of these 4 things…

Funny
The best summer memories are the most funny. The ones that you will tell your friends for years to come. Do you remember that night ….

Money
Summer is not all funny and games. At least not when you are an adult. Great thing about the summer is that there are lots of choices to earn money with extra side jobs. Work hard, play hard.

Sexy
I said before that I will not waste my summer dating but that those not mean I will not pay attention to the lovely ladies wearing tiny cloths.

Nerdy
I should have done this about 2 years ago but this summer I am REALLY going to use the internet to attended all these amazing nerd events that take place in New York. Not only well I attend these events but I will always be doing my own meetups. Including NY Nerd Movie Night and a bunch more stuff being planned out. Even if you are not in New York I am pretty sure you guys would love the videos that come out of these events. I am really excited for the next few weeks.

About Nelson

I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool. My parents was always busy with something so they kept me entertained with video games, TV, movies and magazines. I grew up on that and to this day I still love it. In high school I went though a stage were I tried to hide the things I liked to make new friends. It worked but I was disappointment in myself but then senior year I meet a guy named Rimmy. When I first saw him I thought that he was a total geek and a loser. I did not want to be seen with him cause I felt he would ruin my image. In photo class the teacher put us as partners and after talking with him for a while I realized that we had a lot in common. Long story short, Rimmy made me realize that it is ok to show what you like. The things that you love make you who you are and there is no shame in that. Thanks to Rimmy for giving me the idea for "My Nerd Blog". He moved to California and I lost contact with him but I hope he is doing well. My Nerd Blog is not about glorifying the nerd life style it is about showing what we love cause this is who we are, not who we want to be.
